Group Personal Accident & Business Travel
Our policy has been specifically designed for corporate clients to provide an all embracing Personal Accident and Business Travel insurance package.
Personal Accident
Each policy is tailor made to the specific needs of the client, for example:
- The policy can apply to named employees or to categories of staff or simply to all employees
- Cover can operate worldwide throughout 24 hours (but will only apply to employees who are based in the UK) or be limited to specified circumstances, e.g. accidents occurring during the course of the employees usual occupation
- Benefits can be expressed as fixed amounts per employee or per category of employees or as a percentage of annual salary.
- Limits available from £50,000 or £500,000 (or 10 times annual Salary) or higher if required.
Summary of Cover
Cover is provided for accidental injury happening within the chosen limits of cover. The standard range of benefits is:
- Death
- Loss of one or more limbs
- Total and irrecoverable loss of all sight of one or both eyes
- Permanent total inability to attend to any occupation or business
- Temporary total inability to attend to usual occupation or business
Additionally, cover can be arranged for a wide range of other injuries in a package including loss of hearing, loss of speech, loss of fingers or toes.
Age Limits
Normally 16 to 70 years but other limits can be arranged.
Exclusions
Cover does not apply to injury caused by:
- Pre-existing physical defect, insanity, drink or drugs, self-injury, pregnancy or taking part in:
- Civil commotion or riot
- Motor-cycling, hunting, mountaineering
- Racing (other than on foot), football, ice hockey, polo, skiing, tobogganing, parachuting
- Pot-holing, using power-driven woodworking machinery or flying (except as a passenger)
- War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities, civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power.
Business Travel
Automatically covers all non-manual journeys outside the UK of up to three months' duration
- Cover can be tailored to suit individual company needs to cover all business travellers
- Includes illness as well as accidents, with no medical history required for anyone under 65 years of age
- Includes repatriation to the UK
- Provides a free 24-hour medical emergency service via specialist assistance company.
Summary of Cover
Medical Expenses - up to £2,000,000
- £25 Excess
- In-patient benefit outside UK - £50 each 24 hours up to £2,000
- Supplementary Travel & Accommodation Expenses - up to £15,000.
Emergency Repatriation - Unlimited
- In-patient benefit in UK following repatriation - up to £5,000.
Disruption - up to £5,000
- Cancellation - Any reasonable cause outside the control of the Insured Person (prior to departure)
- Curtailment/Alteration to Itinerary/Rearrangement - Specified Perils including Home or Business becoming uninhabitable.
Replacement Employee - up to £3,000
- Cost of sending a substitute employee to continue the journey when, following injury or illness, the original traveller is declared totally disabled from continuing the journey for a period in excess of 7 days.
Personal Property - up to £2,500
- £25 Excess
- Single Article Limit - £1,000
- Emergency Purchases - £500
- Includes Loss or Damage to an Insured Person's sports equipment
- New for old cover on property up to 2 years old.
Business Equipment - up to £1,000
- £100 Excess
- No single article limit.
Money - up to £1,000
- £25 Excess
- Cash Limit - £1,000
- Credit Card Misuse - £1,000 (payable in addition to Money Sum Insured)
- Loss of Passport - £500 (payable in addition to Money Sum Insured).
Personal Accident - up to £50,000
- For Insured Persons who are also covered under the Express Injury contract, then corresponding PA benefits would be payable under both contracts if both effective times applied.
Personal Liability - up to £2,000,000
Business travel assistance:
- Includes Pre-travel Telephone Advice Service - Business and Social Customs - Political Situations - Medical Advice and Medical Facilities Overseas - Health Precautions, including vaccinations - Visa and Entry Permit Requirements - Currency and Banking Hours - Time zones and Climate - Driving Restrictions
- Travel Assistance - Medical Advice, Referral or Treatment - Emergency Repatriation - Local payment of Hospital Bills - Replacement of Essential Maintenance Medication or Drugs
- Personal Assistance - Replacement of Lost or Stolen Passport, Tickets or Other Travel Documents - Cancellation of Lost or Stolen Credit, Charge or Bankers' Cards' or Travellers Cheques - Advance of Emergency Funds up to £100 - Legal Advice -
- Forwarding Essential Business Documents and Urgent Messages (Insured/Insured Person responsible for charges) - Interpreters at Business Meetings or Translation of Documents (Insured/Insured Person responsible for charges).
